Salesforce Integration

Overview

Oracle provides a connector that customers can install into their Salesforce organization which extends the capabilities of their CRM and PRM systems by allowing Salesforce users to create Quotes and/or Sales Orders directly in Oracle CPQ. This connector is an installable extension, commonly referred to as a managed package, which adds a number of new components to your Salesforce environment that support the setup, customization and integration of your Oracle CPQ site. Oracle CPQ sites can also be provisioned with a reference application that comes pre-configured to connect with Salesforce environments that have the connector installed and configured.

This article provides access to the latest information to successfully configure an integration between Salesforce and Oracle CPQ.

There are three integration solutions currently supported by Oracle CPQ:

Salesforce Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Integration: This integration streamlines the setup and management of the connection(s) between Oracle CPQ and Salesforce. This new interface allows administrators to directly configure the details of the Salesforce integration without the assistance of customer support. See Salesforce CRM Integration.

Oracle CPQ Connector for Salesforce (a.k.a. Managed Package v8.x, Salesforce Connector or Lightning Adapter): This integration solution is built to support users accessing Oracle CPQ from Salesforce Lightning, Salesforce Classic, Salesforce Communities and the Salesforce Mobile App. Customers who have enabled the Lightning Experience gain a choice of Oracle CPQ UIs and integration modes, the Lightning UI which natively renders the your quotes using Lightning Components or the traditional Embedded UI which provides a Salesforce Canvas-based UI mash-up. This solution also supports 2 modes for the Salesforce Mobile app, a native responsive UI or embedding CPQ’s mobile layouts. Users accessing Oracle CPQ from Salesforce Classic or Salesforce Communities will always use the Embedded UI.

Notes:

  • The Oracle CPQ Connector for Salesforce Managed Package (MP) v8.7 and later supports new custom actions available at the Opportunity and Account Header level for Experience Cloud.

  • Older versions of the Oracle CPQ Connector for Salesforce may appear as Oracle Adapter & Oracle CPQ Extension when installed.

Salesforce Commerce Integration (a.k.a. Managed Package v7 or earlier): This is our legacy integration solution which has been available to customers for over a decade. It was built to support Salesforce Canvas-based UI mash-ups in the Salesforce Classic desktop, Salesforce Mobile App and Salesforce Communities. This solution is certified to work in Salesforce Lightning but requires additional customization.

Both integration solutions support the following capabilities:

The Oracle CPQ Connector for Salesforce introduces several key improvements over the legacy connector:

The Oracle CPQ Connector for Salesforce is not a direct upgrade from the legacy Salesforce Commerce Integration. Upgrading to the new solution requires the installation of a new package, the migration of records in Salesforce from the old custom objects to the new ones, and updates to your Commerce Integrations in CPQ.

Salesforce is regularly deprecating older API versions. Please refer to the Salesforce API End-of-Life Policy for more information. Oracle CPQ defaults to version 31. If you'd like to use a different version, you will need to log an SR on My Oracle Support. Administrators will need to re-test all existing integrations after changing the API version.
Oracle CPQ 23D and later supports custom login domains as well as the previously supported login.salesforce.com and test.salesforce.com URL domains. This feature meets the requirements of the Salesforce My Domain Login Policies by allowing:
• Logins from ONLY My Domain (custom domain)
• Logins from My Domain OR login.salesforce.com and test.salesforce.com
